• >You are now told when a project runs out of compute minutes: A project that uses all the compute minutes in its plan keeps accepting jobs and holds them in the queue rather than failing them. Until now nothing announced that: the reason was recorded against each waiting job, but the only place it appeared was a tooltip when you hovered the status of a queued instance in the dashboard — so the first real sign was usually that CI had gone quiet. The owner of the project now gets an email the first time it happens in a billing period, along with a notification in the dashboard and a link to change plan. Nothing about the behaviour itself has changed: jobs still queue instead of failing, instances already running finish normally, and a job left waiting for 24 hours is still cancelled. You simply find out at the start of that rather than at the end of it. The email is sent once per billing period, and only when minutes run out — not for the ordinary wait while your other jobs are using all of your plan's concurrent instances.

• >Xcode 27.1 final release on the Tahoe RC image: The Xcode 27.1 Release Candidate on the getmac-tahoe-rc image has been replaced with Apple's final release of Xcode 27.1 (27A9275), at the same path, /Applications/Xcode_27.1.app. Xcode 27.0 remains the default; select 27.1 per job with DEVELOPER_DIR=/Applications/Xcode_27.1.app/Contents/Developer. The iOS 27.1 simulator runtime only supports the iPhone Duo, so pin OS=27.0 in simulator destinations that name other iPhone models. Stable labels (getmac, getmac-latest, getmac-tahoe) remain on macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 with Xcode 26.6.
• >Updated Terms of Service: Our Terms of Service have been rewritten. The previous version dated from April 2025 and described a smaller service than the one we run today — most visibly, it disclaimed any guarantee of the security, availability, accuracy or reliability of data stored or transmitted through the Service, and its warranty disclaimer overrode the commitments made elsewhere in the same document. That sentence is gone, and the disclaimer no longer cancels out the sections around it. In its place there are sections that say what we actually do: our own hardware in a Tier III data centre in the EU, hardware-virtualised machines, continuous integration runners that serve exactly one job and are destroyed afterwards, and dedicated-host exclusivity enforced by our scheduler rather than by policy. We also state plainly that we hold no ISO 27001 certification and no SOC 2 report. New sections cover service availability, data protection, and security incident notification — if an incident affects your data we will tell you within 48 hours of confirming it, and in time for your own obligations under Article 33 of the GDPR. We have made explicit that we do not use your data to train machine learning models, you can now object to a new subprocessor on data-protection grounds, and a Data Processing Agreement is available on request. Nothing changes your pricing, your plan, or how you use the Service.
• >Forced authorization and stricter firewall rules: The agent that manages virtual machines on each host now authenticates every call, with a credential unique to that host, and firewall rules keep it unreachable from the virtual machines it runs. Both limit how far a compromise anywhere in the fleet could reach. No workflow changes.
• >Privacy and Cookie Policies name our error tracking provider: Both now list Sentry, which records a sample of browser sessions in order to reproduce faults. A recording may include the pages you visited and the actions you took; text you type is masked by default. Sentry processes this data in the United States, on the basis described in the Terms.

• >Xcode 27.1 RC on the Tahoe RC image: The getmac-tahoe-rc image now includes the Xcode 27.1 Release Candidate (27A9275) at /Applications/Xcode_27.1.app, next to Xcode 27.0, ahead of Apple's final Xcode 27.1 release. Xcode 27.0 remains the default; select 27.1 per job with DEVELOPER_DIR=/Applications/Xcode_27.1.app/Contents/Developer. Stable labels (getmac, getmac-latest, getmac-tahoe) remain on macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 with Xcode 26.6.
• >iOS 27.1 simulator runtime on the Tahoe RC image: iOS 27.1 (24A94425) is now installed alongside iOS 27.0, for use with Xcode 27.1.

• >GitHub Actions runner VMs can no longer be stopped or started: The Stop and Start actions are no longer shown in the dashboard for VMs created by GitHub Actions jobs, and the API now returns 409 Conflict for them. A runner's registration with GitHub is single-use, so a stopped runner could never pick up a job again — yet a stopped VM kept counting towards your compute minutes until it was deleted. Delete a runner VM instead if you need to get rid of it. Instances you create yourself through the dashboard or API can still be stopped and started as before. The instance API now includes a runner field that shows whether a VM was created by GitHub Actions.

• >Faster, more consistent dependency downloads: Runners now fetch Homebrew bottles, npm packages, CocoaPods specs, RubyGems, PyPI packages, and Debian packages from a cache inside our datacenter instead of reaching out to the public internet. The gain is mostly in consistency: public mirrors and CDNs swing from a few MB/s to tens of MB/s depending on how warm their edge is, while the local cache serves at a steady local-network speed every time. Small metadata requests — the ones that dominate npm install and pod install — are roughly 4–5× faster. No workflow changes are needed; jobs use it automatically, and if the cache is ever unavailable runners fall back to the public internet.
• >Update checks in the GitLab executor: getmac-gitlab-executor v0.2.0 now warns in the job log when a newer release is available. It never downloads or replaces the binary — upgrading stays something you choose to do. The check cannot fail or delay a job: errors pass silently, the request times out after three seconds, and GitHub is queried at most once a day. Add --disable-update-check to config_args to turn it off.

• >GitHub Actions runner updated to 2.337.0: All macOS runner images now ship version 2.337.0 of the GitHub Actions runner.

• >Executor version reported as dev: Released executor binaries reported their version as dev, because the release pipeline wrote the version into a path that no longer matched the source. Both getmac-gitlab-executor --version and the driver version shown to GitLab Runner now report the real release. Since older binaries don't know their own version, they can't detect updates either — the first upgrade to v0.2.0 has to be done by hand.

• >macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 RC image: macOS Tahoe (v26.6.2) with the final release of Xcode 27.0 (27A266a) is now available as a Release Candidate under the returning getmac-tahoe-rc label. It adds iOS 27.0, tvOS 27.0, watchOS 27.0, and visionOS 27.0 simulator runtimes. Stable labels (getmac, getmac-latest, getmac-tahoe) remain on macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 with Xcode 26.6.

• >Toolchain updates on the Tahoe RC image: Rust 1.98.1, Go 1.27.1, TypeScript 7.0.2, pnpm 12.4.2, Fastlane 2.240.1, CocoaPods 1.17.0, AWS CLI 2.36.45, Google Cloud SDK 585.0.0, and GitHub CLI 2.100.0. [email protected] is now installed.
• >Google Chrome and chromedriver on the Tahoe RC image: Google Chrome 153.0.8010.37 is now pre-installed, and ChromeDriver 153.0.8010.36 is installed from Chrome for Testing to match the installed Chrome build (/usr/local/bin/chromedriver, with CHROMEWEBDRIVER set). This replaces the Homebrew chromedriver cask, which Homebrew disabled on 2026-09-01.

• >Runner labels in the GitLab executor: getmac-gitlab-executor v0.1.0 accepts GetMac runner labels in GETMAC_CLOUD_MACHINE_IMAGE — the same names you use in runs-on for GitHub Actions, so getmac-tahoe means the same macOS image on both CI systems. The label also selects the machine type, so GETMAC_CLOUD_MACHINE_TYPE can be left unset. Image slugs such as macos-tahoe still work for pinning one specific build.

• >Default image for GitLab jobs: Jobs that don't set GETMAC_CLOUD_MACHINE_IMAGE now run on the getmac runner label rather than the macos-sequoia image with the mac-m4-c4-m8 machine type. In practice that means those jobs follow our current stable image instead of staying on Sequoia. Set GETMAC_CLOUD_MACHINE_IMAGE explicitly if you need to stay on a specific build.

• >GitLab jobs starting before the VM was ready: getmac-gitlab-executor v0.0.4 now waits for a new virtual machine to accept connections before running the job script, instead of racing it. This removes a class of intermittent failures at the start of a pipeline.

• >macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 promoted to stable: getmac, getmac-latest, and getmac-tahoe now resolve to macOS Tahoe (v26.5.2) with Xcode 26.6. The image completed its validation window as a Release Candidate and is now the default for all jobs using the stable labels.

• >getmac-tahoe-rc label: The Release Candidate label has been removed now that its image is the stable build. Workflows still targeting getmac-tahoe-rc must switch to getmac-tahoe (or getmac).

• >getmac-tahoe-legacy label: The previous stable build, macOS Tahoe (v26.3.2) with Xcode 26.4, remains available under the new getmac-tahoe-legacy label for workflows that need to stay on the older toolchain.

• >macOS Tahoe RC image updated to 26.5.2: The getmac-tahoe-rc label now resolves to macOS Tahoe (v26.5.2) with Xcode 26.6, replacing the previous 26.5.1 / Xcode 26.5 build. Stable labels (getmac, getmac-latest, getmac-tahoe) remain on macOS Tahoe 26.3.2 with Xcode 26.4.

• >Growth plan: A new plan between Team and Business, at $66.99/month for 6,000 compute minutes and up to 6 concurrent virtual machines. Aimed at teams that have outgrown Team's 3,000 minutes but don't yet need Business.
• >Rust on the Tahoe RC image: rustc 1.96.1 is now pre-installed on getmac-tahoe-rc. Previous Tahoe RC images shipped without a Rust toolchain.

• >Backend: Fixed a rare race condition during instance start that could leave VMs stuck.

• >macOS Tahoe 26.5.1 RC image: macOS Tahoe (v26.5.1) with Xcode 26.5 is now available as a Release Candidate under the getmac-tahoe-rc label. It will be promoted to the primary stable build (getmac/getmac-latest) after a two-week validation window.

• >Retired getmac-tahoe-beta: The Tahoe 26.5 Beta image has graduated to the Release Candidate above, so the getmac-tahoe-beta label has been temporarily retired.

• >macOS Tahoe and Beta new images: macOS Tahoe (v26.3.2) with Xcode 26.4 and macOS Tahoe Beta (v26.5) with Xcode 26.5 Beta are now available as virtual machine images.

• >Backend: Fixed an issue where multiple errors were shown in the dashboard when a GitHub user had no display name set. The login name is now used as a fallback.
